UPTET stands for Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test. It is a state-level examination conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) for candidates who aspire to become teachers in primary and upper primary schools in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India.
The UPTET exam consists of two papers. Paper 1(Primary) is for candidates who want to become teachers for classes 1 to 5, while Paper 2 (Juinor) is for candidates who want to become teachers for classes 6 to 8. The exam is conducted in offline mode, and the questions are of objective type.
To be eligible for UPTET, a candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)/ Deled from an institute recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The age limit to apply for UPTET is between 18 to 35 years.
Candidates who qualify for UPTET are awarded a certificate of eligibility that is valid for a lifetime. This certificate allows candidates to apply for teacher vacancies (Super tet) in government schools in Uttar Pradesh.
